Updates:

23 JAN 2024 - I've now included a "universalKeyCoverTopNoText-5c.3mf" file that you can copy and edit in Bambu Studio to add your own text. Please see the newly added photos for details on using your slicer to print or modify these universal key cover tops - as there are some limitations if you're not using PrusaSlicer. Cura slicer supports the color change for the text but doesn't appear to have an easy way to edit the text. Bambu Studio doesn't appear to support the color change using these PrusaSlicer 3MF files - though you can change the color of the text in Bambu Studio if you have an AMS for multi-color printing. To edit the text in Bambu Studio, it appears that you must start with no text and add it via Bambu Studio.

Also, I should have mentioned that just over 2 months ago I published a collection of Desktop Holders for these Universal Key Covers at https://www.printables.com/model/652818-desktop-holders-for-universal-key-cover

18 JAN 2024 - Added a photo with instructions on how to change the text label to any text you want in PrusaSlicer.

05 NOV 2023 - I just published a collection of wall-mounted holders for these Universal Key Covers at https://www.printables.com/model/637043-wall-mounted-holders-for-universal-key-cover

There are holders for 1, 2, 3, or 4 keys with inserts that can be color coded to each key or printed in a color to complement the holder.

All of these holders can be secured to a wall with one of the provided mounts or you can use magnets to attach the holder to any magnetic surface!

05 NOV 2023 - Added TOPs with “OFFICE“ and “SHED” text; remember: you can use any label you want by editing the text in your slicer!

23 OCT 2023 - Improved TOPs - no more gaps around key ring hole (see slicer photo), more legible text

22 OCT 2023 - Added INSERT for popular Schlage keys

22 OCT 2023 - Added TOPs with “HOUSE“ and “MAIL” text (larger text size!)

22 OCT 2023 - Added more photos

16 OCT 2023 - Added STEP (.STP) files for all INSERTs to allow others to adjust or create inserts.

16 OCT 2023 - Added Hollow “Universal” INSERT (and photos with instructions) to support virtually any flat key - using RTV silicone to “mold” your key

16 OCT 2023 - Reorganized all files into folders

16 OCT 2023 - Added more photos

---------

Additional key INSERTs will be published as I complete them.

Besides the optional wall-mounted key HOLDER, there are three parts to a key cover:

1 - The BOTTOM

2 - The TOP - with the text customizable via PrusaSlicer and an optional color change

3 - An INSERT - multiple options - each specific to one key outline (except for the Hollow “Universal” INSERT)

To assemble a key cover, simply drop the appropriate INSERT into the BOTTOM, place the key in the INSERT, then slide on the TOP until it clicks in place.

The provided STL files are intended to be printed in PLA (though PETG, ASA, or ABS should also work fine) and do not require supports.

PrusaSlicer 3MF files are provided for generic PLA, and G-code files are provided for the Original Prusa MK4.

The Universal Key Covers seen in the photos were printed on an Original Prusa MK4 in various generic PLA brands and colors (some of it is silk PLA) with a 0.4mm nozzle at 0.2mm QUALITY layer height with a 15% gyroid infill. A Concentric top fill pattern is used for the TOPs - which looks really nice with silk filament!

The 4 key HOLDER seen in the photos was printed using Input Shaper on an Original Prusa MK4 in white generic PLA with a 0.4mm nozzle at 0.2mm SPEED layer height with 15% grid infill. Versions of the 3MF and G-code files for the key HOLDER have been provided with and without Input Shaper (look for "IS" in the filenames for the Input Shaper versions.

TIP: If your key wiggles more than you like in the key cover, simply add a bit of RTV silicone above and/or below the INSERT.
