Description

Here is a Meta Quest 3 version of my Apple Vision Pro stand. Please boost if you enjoy it!

Changes include:

- Spots for docking your controllers in the base. This both acts as a counterweight as the stand no longer has a need for a battery slot like the Vision Pro stand, and serves as a handy place to set your controllers. Set them down and they settle into the carved out grooves very satisfyingly
- Top "pringle" that the headset rests on is slightly tweaked in width and height/amplitude to better nestle the Quest 3
- So as to easily differentiate it form the Vision Pro stand if you have both side by side, I added a subtle design on the top pringle mimicking the Meta Quest 3's front sensor array. Fun fact: it's the exact same size and spacing!
- Moved dowel/rod more toward center of stand, which allows for better compatibility with the Quest's headband style
- Removed cable organizer as there are no cables to organize!

As before, you can use any kind of 3/4" (18.5mm) dowel to add a splash of customizability, from walnut to maple to copper to steel, or the download also just includes a 3D printable dowel.

Hope you enjoy it! The base's size is unchanged from the Vision Pro's and the pringle is very similar, so if you're fortunate enough to have both a Vision Pro and Quest 3 both stands should look very nice next to each other.

@christianselig EDIT: Oh, it's exactly 180 millimeters wide. I just need to type its position offset as 90 mm, and it should fit. I'll try a test print. Haha, oh man, I've spent all morning on this and I should have just measured the part... Haha, if this works, I'll be a happy printer. 🙃 Thank you so much for designing this! It's just barely too big to fit on my A1 mini. Could you share the Fusion360 source file so I can shrink the sides by a couple millimeters? (And I'll try to remove some interior geometry from the Vision Pro dowel hole, too.) I could make the changes in other tools, but modifying the original file is easier. Once I do, I'll upload a print profile so other A1 mini owners can print this, too. (Unless you'd rather have me upload it as a remix.)

Let me know if your alteration works! I'm kind of hesitant to give the Fusion 360 file up because it's my first big Fusion 360 file so it's kind of an embarrassing monstrosity, haha

This stand looks so good, any chance you can share your process. I need one for my Quest 2 for my daughter's bedroom.

I model in Fusion 360! Process wise I just start with simple shapes, watch a lot of YouTube videos, and try to sculpt them into what I'm looking for, with a lot of custom parameters powering things so I can easily tweak them over time, since things rarely work the first try!

Does it touch the lens at all?

It does not touch the lens, it just sits on the part that touches your face so the lenses are a few inches away. But it does cover them pretty well from direct sunlight or other intrusion

3/4” dowel doesn’t fit snugly, would have been helpful to add drill holes in that situation
