Description

Since i was not satisfied with the existing models provided by others, i desigend my own - then i figured out, that i was not satisfied by my own model and created another one. And because why not, i designed another two models, just in case :)

so there are 4 variants with different configurations

  • hotends are easy to grab, since the are only lowered half way on
  • stores complete Hotend Assemblies (friction fit on silicone sock)
  • stores bare hotends (secure gravity fit)
  • stores additional part (optionally, on 3 variants)

since most other desigs use dedicated holes and slots for all sorts of stuff and you either have empty slots or too much stuff to toss in - especially the screws? who stores the screws, you use the 2 screws that are alreay in the hotend ;) - i've designed version with just bins

Printing

i've provided print profiles as a download

if you want to print them yourself: no supports, just use your favorite settings for your gridfinity bins

Changelog

  • 2024-04-26 v13: added 1 mm more clearance on the top, so stackability is improved - there are appearantly differnt hotend fans in circulation, that significantly change the thickness of the assembly - thx to u/DraconPern over on Reddit to point that out
  • 2024-05-15 v14: added 0,2 mm more clearance all around the bins to accomodate for variances in the fan geometry - thx to @chrismaddahl for pointing that out

Printed in Overture PLA Pro space gray. Came out very nice. The fan of the 0.6 hotend is a very tight fit. I have to really press it in and removal is a bit hard. But I guess over time it will loosen a bit. The 0.4 hotend with fan on the other hand fits perfectly, also tight but still easy to remove.

would you please provide me with some measurements for the fan, maybe there are some differences in the supplier - so i can add a bit of tolerance for that

These look awesome! Would you consider adding a pair of vertical holes per hot end to store the tiny shoulder bolts that come with? (a la this model: https://makerworld.com/en/models/418578#profileId-321132 ) I find it very convenient, though I like your model for its flexibility and space savings.

i intentionally left them out because i use the screws from the installed hotend and spare screws are stored in the "big compartment" also the screws are not that easy to pull out those holes

I love the flexibility, especially how you can store hot end/nozzle assemblies OR just the hot end in the same bin.
