Description

No need to waste money on expensive mechanical pencil, when you can print a fully printable mechanical carpenter pencil.

Uses 2.8mm lead.

Might be a little rough at first due to layer lines, but you can sand the bottom side of the button/pencil holder assembly and/or add some grease. I personaly just played with it till it became smooth by just sliding the button up and down.

Layer height: 0.20

Walls: 4

Bottom n top: 5

Infill: 15 % Gyroid

Support: Only for Button( Pencil holder assembly)

Brim: Yes

I had 3 failed prints in the vertical orientation where it would eventually knock itself off the bed. I tried printing it opened side down which worked and was much faster to print but gave a bad finish on the tip of the pencil. Otherwise works fine.

That is weird, considering that i've printed about 20 of these without any issues. I would suggest you to enable z-hop and use glue on the bed. Thanks for the feedback!

Updated to 5 stars. Problem was on my end. After much troubleshooting it was replacing the nozzle that fixed it.

Thank you, looks good. Ye the layer lines will make it rough at first, but if you keep playing with it, it'll become really smooth.

I wouldn't scale it down, just play with it a little and it'll become smooth. Or you could use sand paper/file on the bottom of the lead holder to remove the layer lines.

I'll have a go, printed it a few times but the clip bit snapped and the led kept falling out. it's defo a great idea though

Impreso en PLA Basic de bambulab , Impresora x1c , gracias por compartir este trabajo. Es cierto que hace falta un poco de encaje para que deslice bien el soporte de la mina en el interior de la carcasa, nada complicado de solucionar con una lijada.

after printing I found the lead just falls out of the pencil, will try scaling down.

That shouldn't happen because the inner hole consist of 3 different diameters. Try to push it in harder and further.
