Description

Rotating Screwdriver Stand

What you need

  1. 1 pcs of V-slot ball bearing(V-slot pom wheel) or 3D printed version
  2. Minimum of 50 gram of filament 54,28 gram if you choose to print my PTFE bearing
    • If you choose PTFE Bearing you need 46mm of PTFE tube 4mm OD
    • Optional: Stop at layer 70 (14mm) add weight steel balls, fishing weights or rice to weigh down the Base this is optional it will work with or without extra weight, it just gives a better feel that the base has more weight.
  3. Choose 1 of 3 version to print or maybe even all 3 😁

I recommend using a V-slot ball Bearing (V-slot pom wheel) if you have it, much smoother motions, but PTFE Bearing will work too, not just as smooth 😁
I have Amazon link both for Amazon Germany and Amazon USA for V-slot ball bearing (V-slot pom wheel) and PTFE tube you can buy directly from Prusa, if you don't already have some spare.

(They are not affiliate links so I will not receive anything if you buy from amazon or prusa)

3 versions are available

  • iFixit
    • This version is made for the iFixit Screwdriver, the screwdriver fits in the middle and fit 18 of your most used bits (4mm)
    • 48,85 gram of filament
    • Extra 4,28 gram of filament if you choose to print bearing including PTFE Cutter
  • Assortment of screwdrivers
    • This one will fit your normal precision screwdrivers. (9 Slots)
    • 49,06 gram of filament
    • Extra 4,28 gram of filament if you choose to print bearing including PTFE Cutter
  • Jakemy Electric
    • This will Fit the Jakemy Electric screwdriver and fit 18 bits (4mm)
    • 49,68 gram of filament
    • Extra 4,28 gram of filament if you choose to print bearing including PTFE Cutter

Under files i have uploaded all the files as a 3mf + Gcode for MK4 in folders for the 3 different versions.

I have made a merged Version in a 3mf file to make it easy only to download 1 file instead of multiple files 1 for each version

Look for file called Merged if you only want 1 “3mf” file with all files included
2 Merged files are available with and without PTFE bearing.

Building instructions for 3D printed PTFE Bearing:

  1. Using the PTFE Cutter push PTFE Tube in the hole cut the PTFE with a Razor knife you need 4 pcs, the PTFE Cutter will cut it for a length of 11,5mm.
  2. Take middle bearing print put it together with the outer 3d print.
  3. Take ptfe tubes push them in the holes on the side, be sure it does not protrude the outer print else when putting it together with the Rotating screwdriver Stand it will have clearings issues.

Story behind the model:

It all started with the need for a tool holder for my screwdrivers for when I disassembled or repaired electronics. I have in many Youtube videos seen tool holders that could rotate and my interest in developing my own version one day grew .

During the development of the model for my tool holder, I considered the possibility that people did not have a spare "v-slot bearing" (V-slot pom wheel) and therefore I researched the possibilities of 3d printing this component. In my search I found “@kazmar_192412” “PTFE tube bearing (608) ”, which looked promising. I downloaded his model and found the function of this part very suitable for my model. Therefore, I further developed the component so that the type and size fit better with my own model.

I also wanted to give the maker/user the option to have a rotating stand no matter if they was using iFixit, Jakemy electric screwdriver or assortment of random screwdrivers. So I choose to make 3 models that fitted my need and maybe others.

Thanks for looking at my model! I hope you will enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed making it myself. Please post a Make. So I can see other people using what I spend hour and hours to make!

Happy printing!
