Description

This model is to be printed in two parts. Tolerance of .1mm has been added to the base where the medallion insert is glued. At most you may need to use some sand paper to remove a small bit of material from the medallion if your printer isn't calibrated.

To add a logo to the medallion I use Superslicer and add the blank medallion template then add an STL of a logo, coaster, text, etc. I scale the object to be added to the medallion in the x and y and I try to keep the z height no more than 6mm. This is a personal preference and the stand will work just fine if you exceed it. Then just merge the two objects and export them as an STL and you now have a logo'd medallion.

I use the PLA variant of 3D Gloop to glue the medallion to the base though you can use other adhesives. I just find 3D Gloop is the absolute best adhesive to use for any PLA printed objects… hands down.

The medallion is glued into the base with the flat edge of the medallion aligned vertically so it is in the direction of the bottom of the base. You will notice the medallion will only fit into the base in one way vertically. Any logo/text should face away from the back of the stand (the narrower leg extensions are on the back of the stand).

The base has a channel under it for a charging cable to pass. You should not need to use supports to print the base or the medallion even without extensive printer calibration.

And so I am VERY CLEAR. You do not need to give me credit for this model and you are free to sell any phone stands you fabricate using my design and you are free to sell the model files as well. 3D design and 3D printing is a labor of love for me so by all means… enjoy.
