Description

A smaller version of Simple Indoor Glider v2 with increased stability, easier elevator folding, and more control of the flight.

Profile is for PLA on the p1/x1 series. 17 minute print with under 5 grams of filament. Do not bend or warp wings while removing from the build plate.

Thrown from below the head of the glider like a dart. More control means more room for error, but also adds the ability to add a predetermined curve to the flight. It should fly straight if thrown straight like a dart, but curve in the direction it was curve thrown in. It should also maintain its tilt for some time before leveling out. Combining curve throws and tilts will make an interesting pattern. As for throw strength, it can be medium to hard as long as it is thrown straight.

Instructions: Fold the elevators 35 to 45 degrees up from the downwards facing side of the head. Then fold the stabilizers 90 degrees up relative to the downward-facing head. The weight of the head must be facing downward relative to the elevators and stabilizers when thrown.

Hello, make sure that you're using a fully dried PLA, preferably Bambu. The wings shouldn't be snapping in PLA.

brand new dried filament. it’s not snapping, it’s when it’s printing. same spot every time on the right wing. clean plate and 3 different types of filament. all the same results

In fusion, that area of the wing was raised by a layer, but I fixed that in the final version. If you're using the provided 3mf on a Bambu printer, it has to be plate warping/adhesion or some other issue with the printer. Have you tried printing a full first layer test?

The print was excellent – perfect. It didn’t use a lot of material and the damn thing flies very well. Give it a hard toss and it flies like a bullet. It does not drop like a rock.

飞得超级棒,但是不幸的是在顺风爬升了两层楼的高度后俯冲时撞在了墙上,果然还是应该在室内玩耍(\(`Δ’)/

A bit fragile, but a nice print nonetheless

It doesn't fly much in small places. I think the front is heavy. But easy and quick to print. Very good.

Hi, the elevators have to be folded up for it to fly. It also has to be in PLA.

If the front wings have any dihedral(folded up into a V shape), it'll crash more often. The stabilizers also have to be at a 90 degree angle and the head has to be pointed down. The first layer can't have any holes in it either, so a lack of bed leveling could be a problem.
