Description

This is a simple lamp design I hashed out a weekend ago to finally have a simple lamp system to cover the bulb while giving the ambient lighting effect. Each component magnetizes to one another to combine the assembly together. The idea behind it is to be able to orient the shade and the lamp plug positioning as needed.

In order to create one for yourself, you'll need these 2 items prior to.

  • Light Bulb - Any works, I chose to use Govee for the RGB & Smart Home functionalities
  • Bulb Adapter - I modeled the base to this one specifically as it locks to the rear openings
  • 5x3mm Magnets - These push into the holes located throughout each part

For printing, I used the default A1 Mini PLA Basic preset without supports and it prints good.

After printing, I gave it a good ol heat gun action and was pretty satisfied :)

For Assembly, insert the Bulb Adapter through the base and turn the attachment point till it locks in place, then feed the cable around the base till the desired length is reached and then lock the cable by the top ring.

After that, place the cover over the base and adjust the cord to fit. Then screw on the bulb and toss the top shade attachment on and you should be good to go! This is assuming all the magnets are properly aligned as well… Cheers!
