Description

This is a remix of the Zandeelio skull bowl on Thingiverse.

I found a few variations on the original skull bowl, but none of them fit the application I wanted it for. Starting with the model I got from Zandeelio, I trimmed 2mm off the bottom for better stability and printability. I widened both X and Y while keeping Z around the same, trying not to throw proportions too much. I then wanted a low-poly look, but not as extreme as possible, so I went with somewhere around 4-5k triangles to get the MID-poly look.

As it is now, I can keep 3-4 bananas, a couple apples and a few clementines. If you want to hold more fruit, I'd say increase the height of the model a bit more or maybe flare the brim of the skull more outwards.

There were few supports, and the inside didn't even hold up, which was a big shame.

Looks amazing in golden silk. Had some issues with the internal bowl turning into a bit of a birds nest as the nozzle started clipping some high parts of the inner bowl edge when it was whizzing around at speed. Luckily I managed to save it. Looks fantastic when filled with candy!

had issues with the center support area and cheek bones. center area broke free during printing and cheeks definitely need more supports. I had to cancel the print part way through. with better supports this could be an awesome print, and id love to try it again if it cannget better supports. I was really excited for this print. hoping to try it again at some point.

I really like the design of this a lot. but I found that it seems to need a bit more supports in the bottom of the inner bowl area, as mine broke loose during printing and was moving all around, as well as it needs more supports under the cheek bone areas. they where flexing a bit as well during printing. I had to stop my print because of these issue. is there a way that these extra supports could be added? I would really like to print another one of these. I really love the design, and the 1/4-1/3rd that I was able to print looked really good. I just dont want to waste that much more filament and have it brake loose on my again.
