The Nasa Chainmail Hex model https://www.printables.com/model/255141-nasa-chainmail-hex by https://www.printables.com/@tooclewell is awesome, I’ve printed (too) many of them : ) They’re not only very satisfying to look at and play with but also make for great coasters! Definitely a stylish addition to any dining table or lounge area!

My Design

To be able to clear them away nicely I designed this coaster holder which holds up to four of the 4x4 coasters. I tried to stay true to the hexagon theme of the coasters themselves and hexagons are taking over the world anyways, so might as well embrace it :D

Printing Instructions

You should be able to print the model without supports, brim or raft. It should be a very easy print. Use your usual print settings, here’s what I used:

• Layer Height: 0.2 mm
• Infill: 15% (Gyroid)
• Walls: 3
• Bottom Layers: 3
• Top Layers: 5

You’ll have to reposition the model on your build plate as it appears at the origin by default. If you know how I can make it appear in the middle of any build plate let me know and I’ll make the change! : )
