Description

Update: 04/23/24

I made adjustments to the inner fillets of the hook (and elephants foot compensation on the 3mf), hopefully this will help with some of the fitment issues.

--------------------------------------------

This cap hook is designed for those who have multiple caps and need additional storage. With this hook, you can neatly store multiple caps and have easy access to each of them.

The hook is designed for, and works best with, caps with an open back and have a clasp. Like the below image.

To remove the hook, PRESS the button on the side, then slide the hook upwards.

This hook requires supports, I have uploaded a couple different models, one with supports built-in (must be printed at .20 layer height) and one without. If you are comfortable with your own supports, I recommend you print your own.

Recommended:

  • Print with at least 4 wall loops for extra strength
  • Use the 3M Command Strip Large version (item# 17023P-ES)

Important:

  • Supports are required!
  • If you print the model with BUILT-IN supports, no additional supports are required.
  • If you print the model with BUILT-IN supports, it is best to be printed at .20 layer height
  • Install 3M Command Strip on the side that says “3M Here”

Printed this on my X1C the piece that gets taped to the wall was super tight. I did manage to get it on and it works as designed. ~Used the PLA print profile. No additional changes. Sunlu Meta PLA (filament)

The back is extremely tight, I will have to adapt and print again.

I uploaded a "loose" version of the backing plate. It has lower tolerances so it should have a better fit. Please let me know if it works for you.

Replying to @Grigorio :
It looks like your first layer has a lot of squish, maybe that's why its not fitting properly?
