To calculate New Steps per Millimeter:

  • Find the current steps/mm values using the M503 G-code command.
  • Calculate the discrepancy factor = Original model lenght divided by Printed model lenght
  • Adjust the steps/mm for each axis using the following formula:
New Steps/mm = Discrepancy Factor times Current Steps/mm

Update the Firmware with the new value:

  • Input the new steps/mm values using the M92 command (e.g. M92 X80.32 for the X axis, do this for all axis)
  • Save your configuration in the firmware with M500 command.

Here’s the tutorial video from @TeachingTech on XYZ axis calibration for 3D printing.

Follow the steps, and you’ll be on your way to precise prints! 🎥🔍 .
