Description

Hello, I made this design for a cousin of mine and he has had the same ball for more than 2 years. He was tired of the abusive price of the originals and how short they lasted. The solution? a ball printed in 3D and personalized with the color of the wheelchair.
It is for a 4.6 mm control knob, but if anyone needs another size, you can ask me for it.

Hi, you have to remove the Joystick to know the size of the metal rod inside.

It's support for a good thing, so you deserved it! But do me a favour, could you greet your cousin from me and tell him that I wish him all the best! I'm very impressed, maybe too impressed, but as I said I was a "roller" for nearly a year too and I know what it means to get some help.

I will greet him on your behalf, now he hopes to be able to access a new chair and he has already told me to prepare a new design or the same one to match the color of the chair ;)

I'm lucky to not need one of those! But I needed a wheelchair for have a year and I saw the pricetags. It's a shame how handicapped people are ripped off! So I had to comment and say thank you for your work! Thumbs up! I hope it will help those people saving money. My Boosts for this week are already spent, but there will be another week ;-) I promise, I will come back! For those who will be complaining: In this case it is not a security relevant part, so no overwhelming testing is needed. I understand, that not every part of a wheelchair should be printed at home, but in this case it is just an exstension of the already existing mechanic.

I'll give you an example of the price of this modification, and the quality was so bad that they only lasted a few months, my cousin has had this ball for more than 2 years now. https://www.hoveround.com/products/yellow-ball-knob

Ooops... not a discount-price ^^ I was aware that they are expensive, but ok, your example doubled what I had in mind! As I already said, there is almost no research and after that it is pressing plastics in a mold. I don't get it where these pricetags come from. Even if you use PA12-CF15 you will never get close to this :-)
