Description

Simple print-in-place removable ring that can be used to help measure sag on your bike suspension if you don't have or don't like the little rubber O-ring that higher-end suspension setups come with.

This is my first time trying to design anything with a clasp (snap??) or a PIP hinge so if needed later i might have to adjust the tolerances for more extreme size differences.

If you have issues getting the clasp freed, i just used my keys to help pull it up.

Model is made for a 34MM stanchion, but if you need a different size simply just resize the part in your slicer. I've been able to downsize the part to 28MM, and while it was a little tricky to get the moving pieces to break apart, I did get it eventually and it works great. If you're having troubles with the halves on the print bed fusing together, you might have to fine tune your starting layer, or just use a raft.

Shouldn't damage your stanchion as long as you make sure its clean before putting it on, but still use at your own risk.

Update 5/24: Opened the ring up so its like a bajillion times easer to break apart to get working. IDK why i didn't do it this way from the start... left original file if for some reason anyone preferred it that way.

Notes:

Just lay it flat on the bed, either way should work fine. To get the right size you need just adjust the scaling of the part. to find the right scaling just do [stanchion size in mm] / 34* 100
to get the % you need to scale by.

printed at 0.15 layer height for the default size, and 0.1 for a smaller 28mm sized one. pla was used but abs or petg would probably be better. DO NOT use anything with any kind of fill (carbon fiber, fiberglass, ect.) or you could scratch your suspension.
