Description

Kaly42 Keyboard Case

This is a case for the Kaly42. It's designed in two halves with holes added to install heat-set threaded inserts to screw the two halves together. I'm an amateur at 3D modeling, and this model certainly has flaws, but it was fun to design and works!

The biggest flaw is probably with the foot mounts. Without the foot mounts, the case lays flat as you would expect, but with the foot mounts installed, there is a wobble unless you add in M4 screws for the actual feet to make adjustments. In the included photo, I'm using some feet I borrowed from a Glove80, but you could use whatever. If you DO add the foot mounts, I just used super glue to semi-permanently attach them to the base of the keyboard.

Additional hardware:

The case is held together with several M2 screws and threaded inserts.

ItemQuantityRequired?Usage Location

M4 Threaded Insert (M4x6x6mm)4Foot Mount

Disclaimer

The top plates have a very small tolerance and barely fit down around the keyswitches. This was an oversight and I probably should've added another millimeter or so of clearance. So... yup…
