If you enjoy plants, lights, and are facing a 3D printing filament “poop” problem, then this project might be perfect for you.
This plant pot is based on my glowing plant pot design, which you can find here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/191854#profileId-211831
For the light strip, I've utilized these 10m long ones from Amazon: https://amzn.to/42NRtFl (Please note, this is an affiliate link. By ordering through this link, I receive a small commission, which helps to support my work.)
Alternatively, I can recommend these from Aliexpress: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_Demg7zT
For filament, I've opted for transparent PETG filament for the outer part/lid and matte black PLA filament for the inner part and the dripping tray.
Assembly is straightforward.
The illustrative pictures in this section are from my initial glowing plant pot project, so don't be confused if you don't see any "poop" :)
The first step is to fill the plant pot with 3D printing filament. Once completed, you can glue on the lid. I recommend using super glue for this step.
Next, insert the entire LED strip through the hole onto the plant pot.
In the following step, secure the end of the LED strip with tape to the inner part. Then, simply roll the entire LED strip onto the inner plant pot.
Once done, fix the other end to the inner plant pot with tape. Now, insert the inner plant pot into the outer part. If desired, you can glue the two parts together.
Now, you're finished! If you have any questions or improvement suggestions, please leave them in the comments or send me a message. I'd be more than happy to answer them.
Happy printing! :)
