This token, made of bronze or gold in the shape of a crouching tiger, was carefully split into two halves, with the left half given to the general and the right half kept by the emperor himself. Only when the two halves of the tiger become one, can the holder obtain supreme military command.
Its history can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. The copper tiger-shaped military talisman was not only a certificate of trust from the central government to local officials or army leaders, but also the key to dispatching troops and generals. Each pair of tiger charms is engraved with the same inscription, and the shape and mortise and tenon design are closely matched, ensuring its unique identity verification mechanism. This system of one symbol and one use reflects the strictness and orderliness of ancient military command and ensures the accurate transmission and execution of military orders.
PS:这是我用blender做的第一个雕刻模型,部分细节可能不是很好,因为打印要把平放在面板上,所以榫卯连接就没有做,还请见谅
PS: This is the first sculpture model I made with blender. Some details may not be very good because the printing needs to be laid flat on the panel, so the mortise and tenon connection is not done. Please forgive me.
