This model is composed of a few parts, some of which are print in place. There is the main body and the ball joint with the mount attached. There is also a small white accent piece that serves as a cover for the wire coming out of the MagSafe charger. The ball joint can freely rotate to various positions to suit your needs and locks into position.
Overall, I created this design to be printed with a 0.4mm nozzle. The mounting plate is 55mm long and 30mm wide and requires automotive double-sided tape for installation.
I have included a mounting plate STEP file for those who would like to adapt this design for their specific vehicles.
Assembly
Simply remove the support and break off the locking nut from the mounting plate (be sure not to put too much stress on the mounting plate). I have provided two print profiles to use. One uses ABS and the other uses PETG with a PLA interface for easy support removal.
Mount the mounting plate to your car dash using quality automotive double-sided tape.
Something like this will do (not an affiliate link):
Once the mount is in place thread on the MagSafe main body after adding the charger to it.
*Note, I have added a thin small square piece of paper in between the ball join and the cavity it presses into to allow for smoother movement but this is optional.
Side Notes:
My main photo shows a printed model using Black and White PolyMaker PETG.
