The weapons are printed separately, allowing for greater strength and improved detail. This design also simplifies the printing process by avoiding fragile, unsupported parts. It’s a smart upgrade—if a weapon breaks, you can easily reprint just that piece and slot it back into the chess figure.

I made the print take a 15mm by 3mm magnet that you can buy on the Bambu store. I made the pawn supports easier to come off. Made octagons symmetrical

I went and reworked this again from feedback I have gotten. I have made the Biship staff even thicker and worked the knight and his mace over more. I also changed the bridging over the magnet to be easier to print.  This print has come a long way!

I changed the nozzle size to 0.6mm for thicker walls. I set the layer height to 0.18mm fine. I manually painted the support locations and changed them from slim to organic. This kept the supports in place through the entire print. The original supports were fragile, and many users report that the set cannot be printed all on one plate. I was successful in that. I also used PLA marble for a very pleasing appearance and density.

6x3 Magnets in Base

Same as Modular Weapon Upgrade profile, except scaled down so the base of each piece is 24 by 24 mm, and changed the negative area to fit 8 by 2 mm magnets so that it would fit with this board, which is sized to a single plate (<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer ugc" href="https://makerworld.com/en/models/1108685-harry-potter-wizard-chessboard#profileId-1207004">https://makerworld.com/en/models/1108685-harry-potter-wizard-chessboard#profileId-1207004</a>). Pause at layer 34 to insert magnets. Each piece has a different scale factor and the corresponding weapons were scaled to match. The handle of the rook sword needed to be sanded slightly to fit in the hand.
