Description

This is an easier-to-print and updated version of my ‘Ollie Octopus’ design. It has been rebuilt from the ocean floor up.

There should be no issue when getting the joints to free up after printing, but please take heed of the following;

  • Do not scale the print (upwards or downwards). It may work for you - it might not too.
  • Ensure that the filament is extruding well and has been calibrated. My test print intentionally had pressure advance issues - but the result was still fine.
  • Allow the print to cool down fully before working the joints
  • When initially bending each joint, ensure that you only put pressure along the line of the relevant joint. This is not a fully-articulated model, and the joints will only swivel around the lines.
  • Do not put excessive pressure on the joints initially. If it feels like it would break, then it probably will. Simply move onto another joint and come back to it later.

I hope that Otto gives some joy to you. Please give some joy to me by liking, rating and commenting. A photo of Otto in his natural habitat would make me smile too.
