Description

This is a case for the ESPixelStick V3. It’s a cylindrical twist lock design that is meant to be zip tied directly to your elements / props or attached via one of the optional mounts. At a minimum, you will need to print one base and the cover. The ESPixelStick slides snugly into the base as in the pictures. The cover has a slot for optional mounting plates or you can simply use a zip tie through the holes by the mounting slot. 0.2mm interference fits are used in the design so your printer must be dialed in. If your printers over extrudes, the fitment may be so tight that it's not possible to separate the pieces once assembled.

Bases

  • Base - Blank.stl - Blank base for user modification. Has no holes for wires.
  • Base - 2x PG7.stl - This is the recommended base to use. It has threads for two PG7 glands which are size appropriately for the typical pigtails and power connections used in holiday lighting displays.
  • Base - 1x PG7.stl - Threaded for a single PG7 gland. Useful for when power is back-fed from the element and a power connection isn't needed.
  • Base - 1x PG9.stl - Threaded for a larger PG9 gland.

Mounting Plates (optional)

Mounting plates are provided if you prefer to use something other than a zip tie. The mount is a simple 20x20x2mm design. A blank is provided for creating custom mounts.

  • Mount - Blank.stl - A blank for modification or adding to an existing model.
  • Mount - Center Screw.stl - Sized for mounting with a #8 screw. There is a support tube in the middle that is to be discarded after printing. You may have to turn on thin wall support in your slicer to print it, or add your own supports.
  • Mount - 0.5in PVC.stl - A 1/2" PVC clip for mounting on horizontal or vertical runs of PVC.

Notes

The model was designed with a 0.4mm nozzle in mind and uses 2mm walls. A VORON 2.4 and ASA filament was used with a 0.2mm layer height and 40% infill.
