Description

After spring break in Orlando, we came home with a mission. My youngest was picked in Ollivander's and matched with a wand. He wanted to use his money for a light saber, but we figured we could 3d Print the wand. The wand that picked him, however, was not one we could find an STL for online. We found some pictures and tried to replicate it. We failed a bit but this is what we ended up with.

Feel free to print in one color :), the multicolor took forever!!

We really dialed in tolerances and our settings are smooth on our particular printer. I would suggest, however, slicing out the screw-in portions only and scaling in the x and y plane to get a good screw fit before printing the whole thing. (For sure if you're going to do a multi color, multi day print, make sure the screw portion works for you first.

Another suggestion would be to add supports if you're printer is not super smooth because this is long/tall and skinny. This orientation ‘looks’ better though - and this was mostly for looks.

Here's the real versus replica. I had only used Fusion 360 in the past and couldn't do some of the stuff I wanted easily. I learned a bit of blender and started the print, but almost immediately learned a little more blender and would have done things much differently. But we like the print. Enjoy!
