Yet another Tooth Paste Winder (squeezer). Have a look, there are dozens out there.
This started when I printed the “Toothpaste Squeezer and Stand” by Paidros. It worked well but I decided that I wanted to enclose the pawl and sprocket. I also wanted to have an arrangement that would “free wheel” to enable easy extraction of a spent tube without disassembly.
So, here my version.
The attached .gif file should make the assembly process clear.
The Knob is a deliberate tight fit onto the Winder Shaft. Give it some encouagement with modest taps of a hammer. Don't forget to slide the Knob Cap onto the Winder Shaft before you fit the Knob.
I have included right and left handed versions of the Sprocket.
When a tooth paste tube is expended, pull the Knob out about 4mm. The Winder Shaft disengages from the Sprocket, allowing it to rotate freely to unwind the tube.
Have fun.
