Description
This adapter facilitates the mounting of an original IKEA Skadis pegboard (36x56cm) onto the right side of your P1P machine using just one of the small screws provided with your printer, typically used for securing a self-printed enclosure. The Skadis board can be easily mounted using its original mounting mechanism. The corresponding adapter for the left side can be found here.
Updates
15.04.2024: I simplified the model significantly, which is now available as version 2. The corresponding adapter for left side is now available here.
12.04.2024: Decreased the diameter of the two pins that plug into the two holes at the top of the P1P frame as tolerances could be too tight if the printer and filament are not dialed in. If you printed the adapter before the update and suffer from this problem, please use a cutter or sandpaper to slightly reduce the diameter manually. Additionally, added support blockers for the screw holes.
Installation
Position the adapter atop the right side of the printer's frame. Utilize a small screw, typically employed for securing the self-printed enclosure, to fasten the adapter in place. Make sure the screw has a self-tapping thread! You can use M2 wood screw alternatively but they have to be very short. I used an M2x8 for the adapter on the left side of the P1P which worked fine. Insert the screw from the interior.
Secure the Skadis Board with its original metal bracket. Fasten the bracket to the adapter using two M4 wood screws (max. 20mm). Then, affix the Skadis Board onto the bracket using its original screw knobs, use the fifth row from the top. Leave some space at the bottom so that the voard is not touching the tabletop. Install the original support feet onto the printer's bottom row, ensuring stability. To minimize vibrations, consider attaching felt pads to the support feet. Alternatively, try my Sticky Support Foot specifically design for this application.
