Do you own an AMS lite and occasionally need to rewind an unsuitable filament spool for the AMS of your X1 or P1 printer or another purpose? And you don't want to waste print time, filament and shelf space building one of these full-fledged respoolers?
Then you are exactly right here!
To rewind, simply use your AMS lite, with just two quickly printed parts weighing about 80 grams, a cordless screwdriver and a M8 hex head screw.
Advantages:
How to print:
I recommend a line width of 0.5 mm for inner and outer walls, a layer height of 0.16 mm, 3 walls for the bolt and 4 walls for the axis, standard infill. Don't print too fast to achieve better layer-to-layer adhesion and nice threads.
How to use (see pictures above):
Always rewind from the left spool (green) to the right spool (orange), otherwise the screw connection on the target spool could come loose.
Note: The printed target spool holder does not lock into place (unlike the original holder). This is intentional, as the pressure from the cordless screwdriver will hold the spool in place anyway.
Note for Prusament spools:
I primarily use this respooler to rewind my preferred Prusament spools since a few don't fit the AMS of my X1C. Unfortunately these spools are also too narrow for the spool holders of the AMS lite. However, they fit very well if you carefully remove the retaining rubber from a single clamp of the original spool holder. The retaining rubber can be easily pushed out from the inside using a flat screwdriver.
