Description

I saw that idea originally at JackOfTheDust website. They making limited sculptures with crazy ideas. Usually sold out as it appears.

Used the head model of PrintedObsessio's Xenomorph as a guide.

It needs lot of supports and will benefit from the upcoming Prusaslicer's new organic support feature.

For the rod I originally planned a 8mm linear rod, but added an option to print it.
If you print the rod.. print it laying on the bed.

Great model, easy print. Resized a little to fit my A1 mini. only issue is that the little pegs between the two head sections were a bit too long for a tight fit. File them down a good bit, and you're golden.

Nice make! Thanks for sharing. To be honest I did not tested the pegs. And I guess because the overhangs in the holes they are too long indeed. Will review that. Sorry for inconvenience.

It wasn't a big deal. Took a couple minutes to file down. I didn't have to be terribly precise, as they're just used to line up the two halves. Just as long as it protrudes a little so it can locate in the other side.

Made some progress. Automotive primer/filler, and then a pretty decent glossy piano black rattle can paint job. Made a walnut plaque. Going to mount it when the paint is dry.

Amazing model, contemplating painting him but looks great in just black and white.

Printed this out over the last couple of days on my A1 Mini. Had to shrink it down just a little to fit, but it looks great. Going to sand, prime, and paint it, and then I'm going to make a shield mount and put it on the wall like a taxidermied deer head.

Love the model. I just uploaded a new print profile with a beefer base. The original one had a hard time holding up the full-sized head. I also printed the support vertically, for better rigidity and strength. I also cut the teeth and connection pieces a bit.
