Description

After downloading and printing The Wiper v2 (https://makerworld.com/en/models/374481#profileId-274451) I thought I would model and make my own silicone wipers.

So I did that and then, using some 20A Clear silicone, I poured a couple of wipers. They are modeled to fit The Wiper v2 but others have said that model needs to be scaled to 101% so just scale this model accordingly as well.

I have found taking a small piece of metal like a nozzle cleaning needle or even an airbrush cleaning tool and just taking the time to poke into the little fingers several times until you see the bubble rise or pop works. The silicone I am using is clear so it makes it a little easier to see but, it should still work all the same for you.

now this is smart, I bought some silicon goo so I could do stuff like this. theoretically I could "cut" this down to 1 mold in bambu studio and just print a single wiper mold and just pour a tiny amount of silicon to make just 1 as needed yeah? lol I wonder why 3d printers don't just have extra tool heads that squirt the silicon goo into a freshly printed mold lok

I have looked online for the 20A silicone rubber and it is quite expensive, I have some of the silicone sealer in a tube, do you think that could be used?

This is the silicone I used. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BKKYFG2J/ That said, someone else posted pictures on the smaller version I made and it looks like they used tube silicone as well.

Did you have to use any release agent on the mold? If so, what?

I did not, actually. However, I would imagine any silicone release agent would work.
