Description

This is a Dragon Egg Storage pot held together with 12 magnets (3mmx2mm).

Magnets

I made it a while ago, and was pleased with how it came out, but I haven't done anything with it so have put it on here for others to enjoy.

I printed it with no supports.

Please post a photo if you choose to make one. I would love to see this in other colours. :)

The print came out nice when printed with Gratkit tri-color silk PLA, blue/silver/gray. The holes aren't wide, nor deep enough for 3x2 mm magnets.

I think I had to use an electrical screwdriver to make the hole slightly wider on my print. They were deep enough for my magnets though. I can release a larger holed version if wanted but I wanted a snug fit so they would stay in.

How did you manage to print an egg with multicolor filament that overlaps the bottom and top without support?

I printed the base, then printed the top afterwards, which maintained the colour flow.

Outstanding structure and form. Only recommendation would be to make the perimeter holes (used for magnets) a smidge larger in diameter.

Great Dragon Egg, printed flawlessly! Just a small issue with the holes for the magnes they seem to be a little too small for 3x2mm magnets, had to post-process them manually.
