Description

3d miniature of Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands!

Check out my collection of other European miniatures: https://makerworld.com/en/@jarvizar/collections/497061

Collection of all my miniatures: https://makerworld.com/en/@jarvizar/collections/146964

Model created in Blender using data primarily from the Blosm addon.

Slicing & Printing Details

This model was designed to be printed with a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.16mm layer heights.

Try using a 0.2mm nozzle (0.08mm layer heights) or scaling up for even finer detail!

Note: If roads or other small details disappear after slicing, try lowering the extrusion/line width of external perimeters (outer walls) closer to 0.4mm OR use Arachne walls. Can also try enabling “Detect Thin Walls”.

The included “Designer Profile” should have the above settings pre-applied and is ready to slice & print!

Filament used in photos: Sunlu Matte White (miniature), Bambu Matte Charcoal/Black (frame), Sunlu Sky Blue (water)

Framing Details

This model measures almost exactly 6.8in by 4.8in (170.5mm X 119.5mm) and should fit most 5x7 frames (assuming frame lip/overlap is around a quarter inch). Feel free to change the scale/size of the model(s) to meet your needs.

Personally I use these cheap frames from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C8HY7YSQ

And blue printer paper: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006IDQT

I also included a fully printable frame (including a 1mm thick water plate) designed to fit all my miniature cities.

Gif of the Printable Frame

A frame is not required! This model looks great by itself and can be displayed almost anywhere.

Printed on A1 Mini so had to split the frame in two but came out great. Need to glue it together but love the way it came out

adding brim helps with warping for printer like A1 that has no enclosure.

Birthday present for Amsterdam trip with my wife. Thank you so much for the Modell. Turned out wonderful. Orange paint on wood block with silky PLA filament. Cheers, Martin

Same as with the frame, maybe some dowel or dovetail could be added to secure the nameplate instead of having to glue it.

Frame is a good fit for the map. I used some gorilla glue to secure everything, maybe a clip system would be nice to add in the future.

Printed very nicely in PETG. Now for the difficult part, getting it off the bed without breaking it. Hopefully it will let go after everything has cooled down and shrunk a bit. Edit: it came off fine.

Printed with 0.2 nozzle and 0.08 layer height and the detail is just stunning. Thanks for this! Maybe Haarlem in the Netherlands can be added?

Replying to @dragix :
Printed on A1, make sure the filament is properly dried and calibration is done, plate properly cleaned with soap (fairy in the uk)

I just printed the city and water (no frame), and it worked excellent on my A1 Mini.
