Description

I never liked that the X1C only opened 90 degrees. It makes it difficult to work inside the machine with both hands. This hinge replacement allows the door to open up 180 degrees.

It reuses the screws for the top hinge, and glass door (which is installed on the inside of the door, instead of the outside). You will need longer screws for the bottom hinge. However I designed it so that you can use the medium sized shipping screws that come off the Bambulab X1C during installation.

You can use this guide for how to remove the old hinges and install the new hinges. It will obviously differ once you get to reattaching the door.

Its not a perfect design and I would love to see someone with more talent redesigning the model to work better.

Update: V2 version on Printables. Uses original bottom screw instead of shipping screws, removes/reduces gap between top arm and top mount, modified gaskets to add more protection to the glass, and allows for binding screws to be added to the build mid-print.

I do not. I printed it, mounted it, and it turned out great! However my perfectionist soul screamed "It's not the original hardware, you monster!" so I removed it before I could get a picture. I will reattach it and post a picture.

I'd like to see if this actually works so I can use it as well. I can't find any other hinges for it so you are the only hope. I'm more concerned about how it works first, then once I try it I can tweak iitfor how it looks and update it if needed. I hope to see some pictures soon and if possible a video showing it working.

perfect idea, unfortunately i found it after the door exploded into my workshop....silly silly initial construction - your upgrade is perfect and should be obligatory for the customers out there haha
