Description

This model is part of a modular insert for Heroes of Might and Magic 3 the Board Game

This insert:

  • can speed up game setup;
  • places all faction miniatures in one small space (in factory-provided inserts miniatures of the same faction are located in different places or even boxes)
  • takes less space on the table compared to factory inserts;
  • can be placed vertically on the table taking even less space;
  • has a dedicated place for every faction unit and hero (9 miniatures, places marked with Roman numbers I-VII and H for hero)
  • has an easily removable lid attachable with 3x1 neodymium magnets which you can find in a hobby or hardware store
  • can be stored in the main Small/Big box or Rampart/Fortress expansion box with other insert modules

Printing recommendations

  • Box geometry is optimized for FDM printing with a 0,4mm nozzle and 0,2 layer height
  • Supports not required
  • For best results calibrate the dimensional accuracy of your printer and filament

Assembly

Superglue 4 3x1 neodymium magnets in dedicated slots on the box and lid. (Dont mess up polarity ;)

IMPORTANT NOTE:

No manufacturing process is perfect. Your specific miniature base can be a bit under/oversized from the factory. As a result, it may have a loose or tight fit. Fortunately, it can be fixed easily. You can use a small piece of sandpaper or a hobby file to enlarge the insert or put a layer of sticky tape to reduce the insert size. Alternatively, you can measure every miniature base size with digital calipers and modify the step file of the box in the CAD of your choice before printing.

Looks good :) Tight squeeze but that is what happens when you have a dragon, chimera and harpy with wings. I had to do very little shaving on this one. Only for the beholder. Chimera is a bit loose, but again that is manufacturing not the file. 10/10

Hello, that looks cool. I’m still waiting for the game, but I was thinking that there would be 2 heroes miniature? Fit both heroes in that box? you also plan to make boxes for the other factions?

Oh I see there are two heroes. 😅 so they would store in one slot for heroes? What du you think how many original boxes do you need to store all your prints? 1 core box with your inlay and 2 for all the miniatures?

Yes, Hero miniatures also fit into this box. Inserts for heroes are marked with the "H" letter. Insert IV/H should hold a level 4 creature (Medusa) and another Hero

Currently yes. 1 box for the core game and 2 taller boxes (Fortress + Rampart) for all miniatures. But in the future, there will be more expansions, so I will add more inserts/modifications

Hey, i really like that project and started to print it out. As I am not using a Bambu-Printer i'm using the Raw Files. I found a problem in the dungeon-project, as the step file for the Lid is from the Fortress-project. Would it be possible to upload the correct step-file, as i just need to slightly modify it. Thanks a lot.
