Description

A parametric pill box design, made because I needed a certain size to fit big/many pills. A little protrusion on the lid acts a stopper so the lid won't slide open by itself but also does not require Hulk finger strength to open.

The uploaded STL's have a compartment size of 15x35x25mm and the days of the week in Dutch abbreviations etched in the bottom of each compartment. I can add different languages on request or you can easily edit the F3D file for your own. Just open the sketch and edit each text box (sorry, they are all separate boxes). For the font I downloaded the zArista font, which is very rounded, making it very suitable to be 3D-printed.

If you need a different size, you can edit the parameters in Fusion 360: “hoogte_vakje”, “breedte_vakje” and “diepte_vakje” (heigh, width, depth). For advanced tinkerers, you can even se the extrusion width ("extr_width", currently 0.9mm) and minimal wall thickness ("min_muurdikte", used to calculate wall thickness incorporating extrusion width). And if your week has more than seven days you can also add extra compartments ("aantal_vakjes").

To print this you can use the included 3MF file, which has a MK3S profile with a virtual extruder so you can print the weekdays with a different material. If you have a different printer or just want to use your own profile, just add a second extruder to your printer profile in PrusaSlicer. Add a filament change (just “M600”) to the “Tool change G-code” box under “Custom G-code”. When you print with this it will do a filament change right after printing the primer line and after that for each layer with multiple colours. I designed the pillbox to only need two manual filament changes during the print (if you print in 0.3mm layer height).

There is also a non-multimaterial STL without the weekdays, same size. In either case, also print the “deksel” STL (this is the lid, always non-MM).
