Description

This is a strobe disk that can be used on a turntable to calibrate the speed. Using a strobe light that runs at either 50Hz or 60Hz, shine at disk and adjust speed until the applicable ring stops moving. Common sources of strobes are a standard neon light connected to main power, which correlates to either 50/60Hz depending on location. Strobe pattern was generated in MATLAB

I've tried incandescent and CFC bulbs at 60hz - but can't seem to get the 33 strobe pattern to show on this. It'll show on a paper-disc printed out from the web under my normal house lights. Any recommendations for a cheap strobe to get this to work in the US?
