Description

NEW IMPROVED VERSION TILT PHONE STAND V4.0 🥳

  • Compatible with charger.
  • Added arreting screw. Your phone stand will not ever fall again! 🤯
  • Added support legs for better mobile stability.
  • The gears fit together better, which allows for more comfortable tilting.
  • Smooth design.
  • No gluing is needed here. (Otherwise I made a profile where there are parts with clearance. This version requires the use of glue)
  • Added version with clearance. The guide groove has been enlarged so that free movement is achieved
Arreting screw

A VERSION FOR THICKER PHONES

The space between the support legs was increased to 14 mm. The charger slot for larger charging connectors was also widened to 15 mm!

Dimensions between supports legs and charger slot

A VERSION WITH CLEARANCE

  • It may happen that main version will not be assembled due to small clearances. Actual clearance depends on many factors (flow, filament, printer condition)
  • Parts with the letter C in their name are parts that have increased clearance. These parts must be glued

Yes it is. It is my daughter's and my favorite color at the moment.

That was the filament that pushed me over into actually getting into 3D printing, so I totally get why its your favorite. Fun fact they make that filament in PETG, ABS, and even ASA. I'm waiting for there to be a sale so I can get the ASA version to print things for my car (even PETG doesn't stand up to the heat in the car). But I digress - thanks for responding back to me and confirm my suspicion.

Nice idea and great design! Unfortunately the mechanisms don't slide very well and the screw isn't functional.

WD-40 Dry Lub is great for this. I was having the same issue. Just a couple of sprays and it works like a charm. It is Teflon based and will not harm the material.

You need to tighter the screw down enough for it to friction hold the slide in place.

Made a slightly inelegant addition to prevent the stand to tilt back too far putting the phone at risk of sliding off. I glued a piece of filament to the gears. A better solution would be to have a 1.75+ mm cylindrical hole at the the base of the 6_7th gear where we could slide in a bit of filament. It wouldn't need glue as the stand only moves on one axis. This also means that the parts would be easier to disassemble in case one wanted to mix and match pieces or use existing pieces for future versions of this stand. Boosted with thanks.

printed well the gears all work snugly and the set screw fit perfectly. The only critique I have is that the slot for power cord usage is ever so slightly too small by default, a file or rasp can clear material though. a slight expansion of the slot by 1mm may be enough where that isn't needed.

Great design. My best results were from using PLA Matt with tree supports.

To keep the stand in the preferred position, for some, the gears move v smoothly, and don't hold the position very well. May also happen with heavier phones.

I had to sand the guide a bit for smooth operation and wish the set screw was a little longer for better engagement but this turned out great
