Description

Summary

laser air assist that uses a ptfe tube to hook to a air compressor meant for airbrush guns. pictures aren't the best of the coupler but its hard to get to were i have it routed. when i first printed this an ran it, it seems fine but after long periods of use i noticed my air compressor getting hot so i drilled the hole out a little to take a little stress off the compress an this helped but still to hot for my comfort so i added a electric fan to my compress that comes on with it. my compress is old an not new so id about guess a newer compressor would work fine without breaking a sweat but just incase keep an eye on ur compressor an if it gets to hot start with drilling the hole out in the nozzle until its enough of a relief or u can do like i did an add a fan to ur compressor. i only drilled out once an still have plenty of room to drill out more but i was trying to keep the air as fine of a point i could but even if u cut if off flush just leaving enough to hold the ptfe tube, mine with just the ptfe tube would do the job alone, i just wanted to try to make it more adjustable, i may go back an make a couple different nozzles an one that just holds the ptfe tube. i may just go ahead an do this cause my compressor ran fine without heating up at all with just the ptfe tube, only when using the nozzle is when i started seeing the compressor heat up. the laser is 33mmx33mm an is made so if u push it up on the laser enough the lense will stick through so u can adjust its focus or if its a set lense then u dont have to push it all the way up an it can act like some what of a guard but i only have the one with a adjustable lense so i have to push it all the way up., it fits very snug on mine so if u want u could increase its size by scaling it up by a few % an that might make it a little easier to get on an off.

Notes:

has worked fine for me so far just keep an eye on ur compressors health an make sure its not to much back pressure on it making it over heat. when mine over heated it ran fine an acted like it was hitting its pressures limit but it wasn't an i can only assume it was the heat as hot as it was getting thats when i drilled the nozzle out an that helps an it stopped with the shutting off but it was still hotter than i like to the touch so i added the fans to the compressor an that helped but its still warm to the touch so ill eventually make a part that just holds the ptfe tube by its self cause it alone would be strong enough to do the job. any suggestions are appreciated. im still new to the modeling side an mostly use tinkercad but am slowly learning fusion 360 so all feed back is very useful to me an i again will be greatly appreciate it.
