Description

I created a close replica of the spiraled ball Bambu Lab uses in all their photos to show off their filaments. The .step is available in the raw downloads.

It's a great way to show an example of multi-extrusion filament colors.

Uses just over 5 grams of filament, and is 50mm tall (2").

So there I was just having taken delivery of some Bambu Lab filament and here I am looking for something to test it out on. Lo and behold Bambu Lab Ball. It is small but big enough to show the filament properly. It is also super light and thin. I almost thought it was vase mode since I didn't watch the first one print but it isn't. Thank you so much for making this. My routine was to print a Benchy for every new filament but I got bored of them and needed something new.

Thanks! I was feeling the same way lol. You can also speed it up quite a bit on filament where you're ok with a more matte look. My A1 was able to print it in PETG in just under 15 minutes at default speeds with "slow down for better cooling" turned off.

This Bambu ball profile is excellent. I just wish the top was closed.

The model is solid so you can print it with a top if you want. You would just need to change the Top solid layers to 3+ in your slicer. I'll add an alternate print profile with the change tomorrow after I test to make sure it will turn out ok.

Same thing happened to me on the first one I printed lol. I switched to printing them on my pey plate and they come off so much easier.

Best Filament probes for a gallery. Can you design a storage solution for the probes ?

I was considering doing that. It might take a while though, my single printer is going to be occupied with day long prints for the next week or 2 so I don't have much time to test things out. But I will eventually get something made if someone else doesn't make something better than I could in the meantime.

The model itself is solid, so you could print it with a top if you want. In bambu studio (or any slicer) just change the Top solid layers to 3 or more. I haven't tested how it would turn out with no infill, but the opening is small enough that it shouldn't be a problem.

pretty good, a lil smaller than I expected but it’s honestly amazing quality

Thanks, I haven't tried myself but it should scale pretty easily. You might need an additional wall though depending on the size. I tried to measure the official one by counting layer lines. I'm not sure what size theirs is exactly, but i think it's pretty close, assuming they used .2mm layers.
