Description

Modular design, you can achieve various sizes and functions by swapping different components - with more additional parts to be introduced later.

Suggested print settings (for Prusa machines, others may need some tweaking):

  • Layer height 0.2mm.
  • Infill 15%.
  • Perimeters: 5 (for strength).
  • No supports are needed but follow the suggested print orientation for ideal results.

Slight effort may be required when initially screwing the parts together. If you encounter tight threading, try threading the parts back and forth a couple of times before fully threading them in.

NOTE
While this design functions fine on a Prusa Mini and MK4 (the machines I primarily tested my designs on), I've received feedback regarding the screw thread compatibility on some other brands. After testing it on a friend's Ender 3, I now understand the issue. I've made some refinements since then, but please be aware that this problem might persist on some machines until an improved version is available.

Changelog

  • 17 Nov 2023: V3 - Further refined the screw tolerance for an improved assembly experience.
  • 31 Oct 2023: V2 - Refined the screw thread for smoother fastening.
  • 13 Oct 2023: Introduced 2 new sizes - Small and Mini.

Threaded up perfectly. Very cool to assemble.

Nice model, but it needs some work on the threading

This profile is the old version, I believe the author has a new one with better threading.

same as the comment about no middle piece. Printed it through bambuhandy app. Printed with three white pieces and two orange pieces. Two of the white pieces were the same pieces. doesn't fit together

Hi bhmhrex, you might want to give reslicing a go with my original files. I have a hunch there might be an issue with the print profile (I didn't slice it myself as I don't have a Bambu printer yet), and unfortunately, I can't edit or remove the print profile. The central piece is labelled "orange-3-v3-thewhatbrandsg.stl". Give it a shot and let me know if it solves the issue for you.

Replying to @TheWhatBrandSG :
Ah yeah I messed up the profile when I upgraded it to v3, I duplicated a part. The flawed profile has been removed, and I took the opportunity to release a mini compatible version.

There was no middle piece to print - I ended up with two of the lower white pieces (color doesn't matter but the size does). Any ideas?

Hi @1441Engraving, I'm sorry for the delay in responding. If you're working on assembling the full-sized cone, the "middle piece" would then be "orange-3-v3-thewhatbrandsg.stl." Am I understanding your question correctly?

The two larger white pieces were the only Middle pieces in the file. Should I use another file? thanks for responding.
