Description

🇮🇹 Benvenuti in Italia!

Welcome to Italy!

One of the world's most famous landmarks joins MiniWorld3D's  Wanderlust Collection , the bell tower or campanile of the cathedral of Pisa, an Italian city. People from all over the world visit it and take pictures holding or pushing it.

It started leaning due to poor foundation work since construction began in 1173, it took almost 200 years to reach completion at 56m tall. Ever since, there have been efforts to counter the tilt to prevent this beautiful romanesque building from collapsing, so the tilt angle has been dangerously higher in the past, but controlled at 4 degrees nowadays (from Wikipedia).

We modeled this with considerations for miniature printing, so it is easy to print and has great details when printed even with regular nozzles and standard setups.

It comes in two parts,:

  1.  Base
  2.  Tower, so that you can print it with perfectly horizontal layer lines and then assemble onto the tilted base.

This model was created in 2014 by MiniWorld3D founder & lead 3D artist Dany Sánchez.

MiniWorld3D is happy to bring this model to life as a homage to all the people of Italy. This model was created from scratch by hand and brain in parametric software to ensure printability, using photographs and blueprints to create a beautiful and stylized version of your favorite landmarks. Please give credit, it's all about spreading culture!

Printing Tips

Suggested parameters:

For better details, print slow, such as 20mm/s for outer perimeters.
Fine-tune retraction to avoid stringing.
Perimeters: 2

Infill: as low as 5% for miniatures, 12% if scaled larger.

No supports needed, this has been optimized to eliminate all overhangs.

Brim or raft not needed.
