This replace my old 1996 Vester guitar pickguard.

Its model is VE1020 and was manufactured in Korea.

The guitar manufacturer no longer exists and a replacement for the pickguard was nowhere to be found, so I decided to design it myself using the old broken one as a starting model. Additionally I created a third hole for a new tone knob and adapted the humbucker holes to install covers.

I learned myself (with a bit of surprise) that the final print is quite sturdy and durable.

The only downside of the model is that must be printed on a large size printer;

the bed size must be at least 300x300mm. Unfortunately if assembled after printing in various parts, the printed pickguard tends to break apart.

The main model was printed using an Artillery Sidewinder X2 with a cheap black PLA at 0.20mm with normal speed.

I preferred to have it the most similar to the original one, so after sanding and priming (various times) I've applied 3 layers of matte black paint and a layer of matte transparent paint.

If you do not want to sand, apply primer and apply paint, the model can be printed choosing your favorite “top fill pattern”.

To get best results with this big model, print as showed in the attached picture.

It is also a good idea to preheat the bead at least 10 minutes before start printing in order to get a nice adhesion to the bed.
