In my book of regrets
I love Steven Wilson's music, and so I created a set of 3D printable abstractions to represent his discography.
This can be used as a beverage coaster, or just for display. It is square like a CD or vinyl album sleeve.
4 1⁄2 (Four and a Half) is an EP released in 2016 with only 6 tracks that serves as an interim release between Wilson's fourth solo album Hand. Cannot. Erase. and his fifth full-length studio album To the Bone.
I avoided the actual album cover as a lithophane or AMS-only photo. Instead, I simplified it into something friendly for FDM regular setups, inspired by album art and tour merch.
My design uses the already simple, flat grey color with four and a half slits that let anything behind or underneath to be seen.
If you like Steven Wilson's work, don't miss my other album covers.
--------Print instructions----------
Any speed is ok for this one, since it has a very simple and geometric design. Input shaper ok.
Infill at least 15% to hold top layers or text above, but you can play with patterns and higher percentages.
I didn't use brims or rafts, but you can if you experience warping, especially in the square corners. Temporary water-based adhesive is useful too.
I printed the one you see in my photos with Amolen concrete grey PLA in full top layers of monotonic lines pattern.
