I 3D Modeled a Rubik's Cube in Solidworks. Building off of this model, I added 4x2mm holes in each inner side of each edge and corner to potentially add magnets which helps the turning and feel of the cube. I also added a hexagonal pattern on each face of the pieces which helps distribute lubricant for better turning of each side. Additionally, I changed the sizes of the connecting parts of each piece in order to better fit a 3D printed model since the original was not meant for 3D Printing. Finally, I made caps for each of the pieces in order to print a certain color to place on the cube. Unfortunately I do not have access to different colors so it is not a part I made but it is designed.
