Description

Langstroth Beehive Frame - Deep Open  is a 3d printable beehive frame compatible with common Langstroth.  The size fit the deep box.  This frame is an open design that has groves to use with wax or plasic  insetrs that would go in the normal wood frames.  It also has holes in the sides to allow for use of strings to guide formation of natural comb without insert if you wish.  I also have other sizes and frame with the comb pattern integrated.  Check my other posted models for those.

Hi, awesome files :D Do you take requests? It would be great if we had a frame in which we could simply slide down the wax plate from the top and it had notches on the sides. I press my honey, so the strings are always in the way. Would also make it easier to cut out sections, for those that want complete combs with honey.

I will look into that. It would be a bit tricky as the top center connector would be split apart. The way the frame disassembles you can slide the wax inserts in as you assemble the frame and not have to hold them in with the string. Stick some wax or propolis in the connector as you assemble them to make them hold together well and still be able to disassemble to put in new inserts.

I modeled up a top load option last night. I like it and think it is what you are looking for. The tolerances were a bit tight. I opened them up and am reprinting. If all is good I will upload it on the listing as an update.

I don't really understand the question. Hopefully this helps. The stl files included are the outer frame that will need to be printed twice for the right and left sides. A top center connector and a bottom center connector. If you use the included 3MF print profile all these parts are on one plate.

Sorry, I never noticed your response. I will look it to modeling that. Out of curiosity, why would want to mix it up like that?

No, I am trying to model all of the Langstroth for now. Maybe when I am through, I can make that. Is there a particular depth you are looking for?
