Description

I was asked to design a Christmas ornament candy dish. This is what I came up with. It came out way better than I ever thought it would have. It prints very well even without supports!

I am even filling them with candy canes and other candies to give out as gifts and people love them.

Print Settings:

  • ORNAMENT - .8mm nozzle at .4mm layer height (this works great with .4mm nozzle and .2mm layer height but takes MUCH longer)
  • CROWN, CLIP and HOOK - .4mm nozzle at .2mm layer height
  • 15% Infill
  • Prints great with PLA and PETG
  • No supports needed

Assemble:

  • Put the crown on first
  • Squeeze the clip together and put it through the holes of the crown.
  • Then snap the small part of the hook onto the clip thats in the crown.

Tips:

  • Here is a link to a video on how to put the clip in the crown. https://1drv.ms/v/s!AuVsbZlU2wLMg7d7vGVq-2VpQSZ_vA
  • If the clip breaks, then print it last and take it right off the print bed as soon as it finishes and squeeze it or you can use a heat gun.

Thank you to @Dadof6 for this video showing them being printed: https://www.instagram.com/p/CXKngN9FMS8/

love this so much! such a great item! if I could note one item for future improvement it would be that both items I printed from this design have the same vertical gaps in printing (2). I only see it because I’m looking, none of my guests have noticed. neither of these gaps would keep me from using this, it is just awesome!!

that’s called a seam it’s completely normal for 3-D printing . look up how to hid it or make it less noticeable

I was attempting to help you with your design. The intent here is to help each other, please don’t expect that I am an idiot. if I had an issue with a print such as a noticeable and measurable lack of filament where filament would normally be expected to be, I would want to know so I could look for remedies. Perhaps look at the pictures again, the “seam” you refer to is rather deep. I was able to get a better picture of it tonight. Best of luck!

Printed on Bambu A1 Mini. Made 7 of them in different colors and sizes. All printed great except the one I tried to do with the .02 nozzle on the finest setting. Clogged up the nozzle and haven’t been able to clean it out.
