You can use the customizer to change the parameter. If you like to design something completely new - a string is formed with a cube object that is 2×nozzle(wall) wide and one layer tall. These are then placed so they are not crossing within the same layer. I am using openSCAD for this as math is your friend here and allow to automate the distribution.

could someone tell me how this is set up, i am looking to do it but its requiring supports, is this how its intended? i just feel supports will be awkward taking off without breaking the thinner lines, or am i missing something?

No supports must be used. These strings are bridges that should work fine as they are connected on both sides.
