Description

You can find serveral AMS lite spool adapters for spools with a large inner diamenter. Most of them need lots of filament and take a long time to print. I wanted to have something simpler that does not need half a spool of filmant for just some adapters. So I designed this squishy adapter for filament spools with an inner diameter of 72 to 75mm. One adapter only uses 26g filament and can be printed in 37 minutes.
This minimalistic adapter can be used with Sunlu, Geeetech and Giantarm spools. At least these are the brands I tested the adapter with. Because of its squishiness the adapter will adjust to the inner diameter of the spool.

Printing is not difficult but you have to closely follow my setting.
0) Use a quality brand filament.
1) Reduce the volumetric flow of your filament to 18mm³/s if necessary (same as Generic High Speed Settings).
2) Set the max fan speed layer time to 6 seconds (same as Generic High Speed Settings).
3) Set the layer height to 0.2mm
4) Use vase mode (activate spiral vase under process/others in the slicer)
5) Set the line width for outer walls to 0.99mm.
6) Set top shell layers to 0.
7) AND set bottom shell layers to 0, too.
8) Outer wall speed can be set to 200mm/s but this will already be controlled by the flow.

These settings are recommended to print a thick & stable wall in vase mode. If your filament allows it, you can reduce the layer time and increase the volumetric flow to print even faster. Of course all settings are included in my 3mf file.

UPDATE 2024-08-08:
I added a new print profile for spools with an inner diameter of ~63mm.
