Description

Buffalo Bills floating logo sign. THIS IS A MULTI-PART LOGO. This is so the texture of the textured plate will be on the front of all the parts of the sign and to help achieve a 3 dimensional look as all the colors are different thicknesses. The different components (if large enough) are models with connecting pins to achieve a press fit, but a bit of CA glue doesn't hurt (ProTip- if CA glue cures without an accelerator, it may leave a smoky residue. If you apply a thin coat of WD-40 and wipe away, this residue will disappear).

The base is modeled with an integrated hangar and standoff feet.

The holes in the logo and base are designed to accept TPU adapters that allow the acrylic rods (with slight manufacturing diameter deviations) to be installed and removed easily, while remaining secure. These adapters can be found here- https://makerworld.com/en/models/39229#profileId-38178. The inserts are designed with a 2 degree draft angle to lock them in place once installed. I generally print these in clear TPU or a matching color TPU if I have it. I included the F3D file in case you want to change the design to fit any dowel you may have (or print). The dowels I use- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09SKYYS5X?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details.

If you like this design, think about buying me a coffee (let's be honest- it's going towards filament)- https://www.buymeacoffee.com/thehangardesigns

I am going to try and make my first sign this week. How long are you making the acrylic rod portion that goes into the base and what are you using to cut the rod? A band saw? I wonder if a hand saw would work.

Hi there, I am cutting the dowels to 1 3/4” or 45mm long with a bandsaw, I’m sure a hand saw with fine teeth would work fine. Good luck and post a photo if you’re happy with it!

Awesome, thanks for the reply! I ordered some acrylic rods and they shouuld be here sometime next week. Already printed a few signs (Bills and Panthers) and they look great. I will definitely upload some photos once the rods get here and I get everything put together. Thanks again, the signs are awesome!

These look awesome! I enduded up scaling them up to 110% and re sized the TPU bushing to fit it the hole while still using the recommended 3/8" acrylic rod. Snug fit but they aren't going anywhere. Also, all of the snap fit parts for together great. No slop or looseness. I used all Bambu Lab Basic PLA Red, White and Blue if anyone was wondering. Thanks again!
