This is a soap/sponge dish that is designed to allow it to dry completely by elevating it off of the bottom surface. I cook a lot with cast iron and always have scrubbing sponges or steel wool that I need to dry after use. Perfect for use with sponges, steel wool, SOS pads, or even Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. Anything that you want to let dry to avoid growing bacteria by sitting in a damp tray.
