Description

I saw something like this box online by a creator called Dekay's Crafts who comes up with some really good ideas for storage working with wood, as I needed a little box for some screws I thought I would try and design such a thing to 3D print and here is the finished item.

The idea is that you fasten it to a wall using the 2 screw holes or use double side, to slide out the draw and it tilts down making it easier to view and access the components, there is a shelf on top for more storage capacity if needed.

I wanted to try printing with ABS and that's what I used for this model, ABS filament gives off a lot of fumes so ventilate well, it's not toxic though which is good, but for those of us with respiratory issues, I wouldn't recommend printing with it in a confined space.

That aside, the model turned out great and worked perfectly.

Some hardware is needed in the form of 4no 5MM x 10mm Bolts of some form which locate into the sliding shelf via the slots, i had some Phillips style bolts with a wider head, but any 5mm bolt would be ok as long as its 10mm long.

To assemble the box, first run a 5mm bolt into the threads to clean out the threads, then locate the sliding shelf into the main body, tighten the 4 bolts so there is still some play so the shelf will slide, then pull out and tilt.

The pull knob is glued in place and that's about it, place it where you want it and enjoy using it.

I printed the main body separate as it needed support in the slots.

Great Project and will come in very handy.

Thank's for Looking.
