Paddle Steamer Model
Print Profile(1)

Description
A 15 cm model of an ancient paddle steamer (wheel boat). Superglue works fine if printed in PLA. No AMS needed. The boat floats on water, and the wheels can rotate. This model is inspired by a ship model one of my elementary teachers gave me, and is a part of my childhood memory, similar to the cargo ship I posted earlier.
Optionally, you can add two thin rubber bands in the hull, as guided in the instructions below. This will allow the wheels to rotate back if you tighten the spring (by rotating the wheels in the opposite direction) before releasing them. Doing so will allow the boat to race around 25 cm (10 in), but the distance is highly dependent on the length, thickness, and tension of the rubber bands and the number of rotations before releasing the wheels.
Instructions on how to assemble this model are given at the end of this description. I have built this model 3 times, and any feedback, such as ratings and comments, would be greatly appreciated! Also, more ships are coming.
15 cm ancient paddle steamer. Glue is needed!!! Superglue works fine if printed in PLA. This model does not need AMS. The boat floats on water, and the wheels can rotate. Inspired by a paddle steamer my elementary school teacher gave me, I want to recreate some childhood memories. This is how the cargo ship I posted earlier came about.
You can add two thin rubber bands to the hull, please refer to the assembly guide below for the steps. This will allow the wheels to rotate back after you release them by rotating the wheels in the opposite direction, similar to a wind-up toy. I have personally tested it and found that the boat can travel 25 cm on water after releasing the wheels, but the distance depends on the length, thickness, and tension of the rubber bands, as well as the number of rotations before releasing the wheels.
Below are the assembly instructions. I have built it 3 times, it should be fine. I hope you all can leave suggestions or ideas, please rate and comment, thank you! Stay tuned for the next ship model.
