Description

Print your own dichroic filament (multi color). When using the printed octagonal filament you need to set flow to 1.12 (112%) to compensate for the shape else you will get under extrusion.

This also allows to create blends - therefor you need to print the filament with an already printed filament to mix the colors more. You can create a shade or with translucent filament you can make a cloudy diffusor (90% clear 10% white)

How large is the rainbow vase? Is the octagonal filament printed from one plate enough to print this vase?

The example is 3.5m but the customizer script allows you to choose any length you need .. up to about 20meter fit on a build plate. So Just slice your vase and check how much Filament you need. You also can use multiple pieces if you have a really large print - with one transition per piece.

would someone mind explaining the steps required to use this? assume I just want to print a simple primative..

You print the amount of filament you need. Depending on your use you color the filament accordingly. Then you use that printed filament to print your object - you will need to increase the flow to 112% therefor. That way you can create color blends, dichroic filament, rainbow filament or gradients transitions.
